On Sunday 9th June, Marbury Country Park once again plays host to the Marbury Park Sprint & Classic Triathlons.
Starting in a wave with similar swim abilities, you will swim a single loop of 750m in the picturesque waters of Budworth Mere, then head into the large grassed Transition Area within the Park before embarking on a looped cycle circuit on the local rural roads. Partial road closures will be in place to increase your safety and enjoyment.
After returning to Transition in the Park, the run follows the magnificent hard surfaced footpaths within the country park, ensuring a traffic free run for all competitors to enjoy. There are plenty of opportunities for spectators and supporters to view the action, and our photographers will capture the all-important action shots of your achievement.
A fantastic first Open Water race or a great race for the Sprint Specialists.
The Classic distance race is everything you would expect of a top quality Open Water Triathlon.
The swim is a single 1500m lap in the sheltered waters of Budworth Mere.
Transition is on the lawns of the Park with ample quality racking.
Partial road closures out on the bike circuit make for an enjoyable trouble free ride, while our large team of experienced marshals will keep you on the correct route at all times.
Following your return to Transition in the Park, the run takes in the closed private roads and well surfaced footpaths of Northwich Woodlands, before returning to finish back in the Park.
Our team of professional photographers will capture you in action and our friendly team of marshals will look after you all the way.
Why not avoid the rush on Sunday morning and stay over for the weekend. On site camping is available.
Sprint or Classic? – Which Event Will You Choose?
Swim
Starting in a wave with similar swim abilities, you will swim a single loop of either 750m for the sprint distance, or 1500m for the classic distance.
The swim takes place in the picturesque waters of Budworth Mere
Visibility in the water is very good and above all our water safety crew are highly qualified and very experienced.
Bike
Heading out of transition, competitors embark on a looped cycle circuit on the local rural roads.
Partial road closures will be in place to increase your safety and enjoyment around the picturesque bike circuit
After completing the bike course, competitors return to the transition area in the Park.
Run
The run follows the well surface footpaths within the country park, ensuring an enjoyable, and traffic free run.
There are plenty of opportunities for spectators and supporters to view the action, and our photographers will capture the all-important action shots of your achievement.
