Skipton Triathlon 2012

Kick off the 2012 season with the hugely popular pool based triathlon set in a stunningly scenic location.

The Skipton Triathlon is the ideal event for the novice competitor wishing to give triathlon a go.

Taking place on Sunday 15th April, this early season event has always proved to be extremely popular, earning itself the status of becoming the largest pool based Triathlon in the Yorkshire & Humberside region.

Over 700 competitors signed up for the event in 2011.

Using the modern facilities of Craven Swimming Pool and the large park land area of Aireville Park, this is an event not to be missed.

A 400 metre swim, in the modern 25 metre Craven swimming pool.

Competitors will start in wave starts, being placed in swim lanes with other competitors of a similar swimming ability.

When completing the online entry form, we ask for an estimated swim time for the 400 metre swim, this allows us to work out which swim start you will be placed in.

The bike course consists of a 1 lap, undulating bike course taking in some stunning scenery around Skipton. The road surface is very good.

The 20Km bike course provides competitors with interesting views, steady climbs and nice descents.

Remember to smile at the event photographer out on the bike course.

The run course consists of a 2 lap course utilising the tarmac paths in and around Aireville Park.

The route gives supporters several opportunities to offer words of encouragement during the final discipline of the Skipton Triathlon.

Competitors’ final race details are available to view. Competitors start time and race number are available to view. If you have any questions regarding the Skipton Triathlon please use the contact form.

Best of luck with your training.

We look forward to welcoming you to Skipton on the 15th April.
